In two days there will be a new episode of Smallville. Kind of looking forward to it since the last one was in mid December.
In seven days we get a new President. I think I'm not the only one who's excited about that.
Somebody did the math, and if you gave the 700 billion dollar bailout that Wallstreet got back to the taxpayers who paid for it in the first place, we'd each get $5185. I could buy something with that.
And while we're at it, the big three auto companies want 34 billion in loans. The oil industry made 62 billion in profits last year, and they need the car companies. So why don't they lend it to them? Car guys get help and the oil guys get to earn more on their profits, everybody wins. Funny thing, Big Oil and been silent. Suppose maybe they don't think they'd get the money back? No confidence in the car guys? Hmmmmm.
