Which Is It?

You've got several hours to kill, music, movies, or books?

Why?

Oh, and tomorrow is National Spongecake Day. Hopefully I don't have to explain what that is. :-)

Mmmmm, spongecake....
But whats with all the diffent type of food-associated national days? Not that it seems to be a bad thing, just some kind of national obsession with food??

Hmm...that's a tough one. Movies would come in last; although between music and books, it depends on what category this music falls into: performance, or listening? If it's the actual playing of music, then it goes over books today; however, if it's listening, books win, maybe some jazz, or something else with no vox playing in the background.

Live music first deffinately, books with music in the background(some good blues)and than movies.

Thanks for all the input!

I have no idea who comes up with all these goofy holidays, I just repeat them at my discretion. :-)

Definitely reading books with music in the background, mostly because nothing can occupy me the way a book can and for as long as a book can. If I read a work of fiction, the world outside the pages doesn't exist while I am reading. You can talk to me, you can call my name, and I won't respond, because I genuinely won't hear you. It is a laughing point in my family that one day they all spoke my name really loudly at the table trying to get my attention while I was reading, and then my sister whispered to my mum "mum I have something really private to tell you" and I looked up at that moment.... Apparently the promise of secrets can rouse me when my name will not.
