No Good Title

If it wasn't late and 3 degrees (-17C) outside, I'd go get a nice juicy burger with some cheese on it. Maybe I'll find time for that tomorrow.

Yesterday (half an hour ago) was Pearl Haror Day here in the US. It's the anniversary of the Japanese attack on our Naval Base at Pearl Harbor signifying our entry into WWII, ultimately ending in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It used to be we waited until there was really no other choice than to go to war. These days...I really hope there'll be some kind of worthwhile resolution to the current mess we're in in Iraq.

Tomorrow (the 9th) is National Pastry Day. We don't have one of those restaurants that serves burgers on Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Darn it.

Take one bunch of spinach, slice into strips and steam until soft. Combine spinach with one egg, 6 pieces of sundried tomatoes, sliced, 250g of fetta, crumbled, crushed garlic and roasted pinenuts.
Spread mix onto one sheet of butter puff pastry and roll pastry up, like a swiss roll. Slice roll into scroll sections, put scrolls in baking dish, bake in 180 degree oven until golden brown.

Okay, but where's the burger in that? :-)

It sounds kind of tasty (except for that spinach part).

but it's the spinach that makes it all worthwhile...and I found out, the other day while I was making these, that if you use the crusty (no pun intented) sheets of the pastry, that have been in the freezer for way too long and are all cracked around the edges, when it's cooked, it looks like a lotus flower. Cool hey?!
