Another Lovely Day In The Midwest

A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW WILL BEGIN BETWEEN 1 PM
AND 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON. ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM A
TRACE TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH BY THE EVENING COMMUTE. THE
PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN OVERNIGHT.
FREEZING RAIN WILL RESULT IN ICE ACCUMULATIONS RANGING FROM ONE
QUARTER INCH SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80...TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH
OR GREATER ALONG AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 34.
THERE IS
THE POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH WOULD RESULT IN PERIODS OF
HEAVY SLEET AND RAPID ICE ACCUMULATIONS. THIS WOULD CAUSE DANGEROUS
AND RAPIDLY DETERIORATING TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

THE PROBABILITY OF EXTENDED POWER FAILURES IS HIGH WITH THIS
STORM.
WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN LIGHT TONIGHT...BUT ARE
EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 10 TO 20 MPH FOR A TIME FRIDAY MORNING.
