Advertising is generally stupid. Those Nigerian money transfer schemes are almost always stupid. Marketing is often stupid. Spam is stupid. I'm sure you could all add loads of stuff to the list.

But here's the thought that keeps me up at night - they wouldn't keep doing all these things if there weren't people out there falling for them. A lot. While we're looking at quotes from famous brilliant people we fail to look around behind us at the masses.
