Outside The Lines
Living outside the normal lines can mean more freedom, but with that comes more responsibility. You have to take your own chances with things and there are less resources to rely on. Nobody can tell you where the trail leads or what the hazards might be if you're out there blazing your own way. It can be a little intimidating, but it's often a great feeling of achievement.
I don't think I'd want it any other way.
Update on the hats - sixty different versions, but they're all the same hat. Kind of an anticlimax.

I have to admit at the moment at work i'm very busy trying to live inside the lines.... Following protocols etc. The thing is, bad things happen in obstetrics, and the only way to not get sued is to be doing the same thing all your colleagues are. It's so dull.
