Half A Song

I keep hearing this song, but only part of it because they use it for a TV show theme. I like the part they play, but when I look up the lyrics it seems like kind of a downer. So you decide for yourselves.

Artist: Remy Zero
Song: Save Me (Smallville Theme Song)
I feel my wings have broken
In your hands
I feel the words unspoken
Inside
When they pull you under
And I would give you any thing you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams are falling down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I've been waiting for you

I see the world has folded in your heart
I feel the waves crash down inside
And they pull me under
And I would give you anything you want
You were all I wanted
All my dreams have fallen down
Crawling round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't care how you do it
Just save, save
Come on
I've been waiting for you

All my dreams are on the ground
Crawling' round and round and round

Somebody save me
Let your waters break right through
Somebody save me
I don't' care how you do it
Just save me, save me
I've made this whole world shine for you
Just save, save
Come on
I'm still waiting for you

You see, that's the problem. No-one will ever save you. You have to save yourself first. Otherwise it's a lost cause. That's too much responsibility to thrust upon another human being.

It's only when you can be all that you need for you, that someone else can step in.

Now go forth into the world..grasshopper...

I guess that's why they use it for the Smallville Theme. Clark Kent isn't a human being, he's going to grow up to be Superman.

That's my dillema with it. The song as a whole seems a bit plaintive and whiny, but the part of it they use for the show makes it seem like maybe there could be super heroes like Clark.
I kind of enjoy the fantasy.

Yeah I see the whole irony when I hear the whole thing, still love the theme for the show...
Now where is he? I could be the damsel in distress and need saving...hahaha

I'll have to reserve judgement till I hear it. But I like slightly melancholy music sometimes...
