Feels Like Spring

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Well, Duh

So I can't install this thing because I don't have the right version of this other thing, and it can't be found. Of course, why didn't I figure that out before. And it only makes perfect sense that I'd discover that little fact by accident.

Sorry, software issues. That's what happens when you want to play with stuff that's not quite ready for prime time yet. I guess I have to wait like everybody else.

Quick Poll

Which is more important, trust or loyalty?

Why?

Here It Comes Again

One of my personal favorites, tomorrow is Something On A Stick Day.

Enjoy!

Carte Blanche

It's the one we've all been waiting for.
Tomorrow is Make Up Your Own Holiday Day.

I don't have any prizes to award, but let's pretend like I do.

Blame Chester

If I'm going to have to hear this in my head for the weekend, let's share it with everybody and see if it makes anybody else crazy.

:-)

EE&V

Eyes
Darkness except for brief, brilliant lightning strikes.

Ears
Distant thunder and heavy rain.

Voice
"Okay, I'm just going to stop talking now."

"Thank you."

Life should have a soundtrack. All the cool people in the movies get one, and they don't have half the impact without it. I think we regular* people should get to have one too. Who's with me?

*okay, in my case "regular" might be a bit of a stretch, but you know what I meant

And remember, tomorrow is National Goof-off Day.

:-)

Uh....Um....(scratches head)

I ran across this Website, and I'm not convinced it was created by a sane person.

The best part (laughing) is when you get all the way to the bottom and discover there's a "next page".

I can only say, "What the...?"

Can't Stop This Thing We Started

You might stop a hurricane
Might even stop the drivin' rain
You might have a dozen other guys
But if you wanna stop me baby - don't even try
Im goin one way - your way
It's such a strong way - let's make it our way

Can't stop this thing we started
You gotta know it's right
Can't stop this course we've plotted
This thing called love we got it
No place for the brokenhearted
Can't stop this thing we started - no way
I'm goin your way!
You might stop the world spinnin' round
Might even walk on holy ground
I ain't superman and I can't fly
But if you wanna stop me baby - don't even try
I'm goin' one way - your way
It's such a strong way - let's make it our way

Can't stop this thing we started
You gotta know it's right
Can't stop this course we've plotted
This thing called love we got it
No place for the brokenhearted
Can't stop this thing we started - no way
I'm goin your way!

Oh - why take it slow
I gotta know
Nothing can stop this thing that we got

Tomorrow Is

Proposal Day.
Don't look at me.

Wednesday is Fragrance Day. (groan) I'm allergic to most of that stuff.

Here's the good one. Thursday is National Goof-off Day.
I think that calls for some kind of party, no?

Thanks To Mr. Steinman

I can see myself
Tearing up the road
Faster than any other boy has ever gone
And my skin is rough but my soul is ripe
And no one's gonna stop me now
I gotta make my escape
But I can't stop thinking of you
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late
I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late

Then I'm dying on the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Breaking out of my body
And flying away
Like a bat out of hell

So...

How did everybody spend Green Beer Day?

I kind of forgot about it until late in the day.

Learn To Be Still

It's just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You'd give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don't know how to be alone
So we wander 'round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don't smell so sweet
Maybe you've forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contridictions
In all these messages we send
(We keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin'
It's waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin'
Keep on runnin'

--Don Henley

Tomorrow Is

Everything You Do Is Right Day.

Boy, I hope so. That would be nice for all of us.

But how could you have a day where everybody's right? That wold mena no games, sports, stock trading, really much of anything where somebody loses.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to think about this.

Maybe that's what it's about. We all spend so much time trying to figure it out that nothing actually happens.

Daylight Shavings Crime

I know I've complained about this before, but the whole Daylight Savings thing is just....stupid. There are plenty of studies that don't think we really save anything and it just leaves people short on sleep.

Just pick one freaking time and stick with it. Maybe the people in New Mexico aren't crazy after all. They just have one time and they want to declare Pluto a planet again (at least while it's in the sky over them). They were supposed to vote on it Tuesday, but I haven't heard how it turned out.

I wonder what time it is on Pluto?

Poignant

Didn't make this, but I found it poignantly expressive.

When I Was A Kid

We used to have winters like this. I thought I'd share this for the winter-deprived out there.

Yeah, I know the pic is huge, but I thought some of you might need new wall paper.

Reaching From Nowhere

How can I be telling you my thoughts my love
When even I don't know what I'm thinking
How can I explain the way your eyes
Burn into my mind, my love

For when you talk to me
I'm blind 'cause you set me free
and you hold me and your fingers
touching me

What if we decide to break these walls?
This from me, the builder
Can we give this love a fair chance?
And only cease when it fades

And when I see your face
Locked in my memory
And you hold me
And I'm giving up to you

Reaching from nowhere
Feeling for your hands
Screaming out your name
Nearing towards you

Reaching from nowhere
Feeling for your hands
Screaming out your name
Nearing towards you

I only havea faint idea what it says because I read a translation, but the song is pretty.

Bored

I guess that's what you'd call it. It's not that I have a shortage of thing to do, they just don't seem as interesting as usual. But then it is Panic Day, so maybe that's it.

Tomorrow is Festival Of Life In The Cracks Day.

I'm not sure just what that's about, but I mean to celebrate it as if I did. I could use a party, I guess.

Illuminination

Don't believe them for a moment
For a second, do not believe, my friend
When you are down, them are not coming
With a helping hand
Of course there is no us and them
But them they do not think the same
It's them who do not think...
They never step on spiritual path
They paint their faces so differently from ours
And if you listen closely
That war it never stops
Be them new Romans
Don't envy them my friend
Be their lives longer
Their longer lives are spent
Without a love or faithful friend
All those things they have to rent
But we who see our destiny
In sound of this same old punk song
Let rest originality for sake of passing it around
Illuminating realization number one:
You are the only light there is
For yourself my friend
There'll be no saviors any soon coming down
And anyway illuminations
Never come from the crowned
Illuminating realization number one:
You are the only light there is
For yourself my friend

My Immortal

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating life
Now I'm bound by the life you've left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

The faint rustle of slightly over-starched hotel sheets.

Voice
"That noise you made, was that a good thing or a bad thing?"

"Oh, that was a good thing."

Almost The Weekend

Today is Old Stuff Day.

Tomorrow is I Want You To Be Happy Day, Peach Blossom Day and National Anthem Day.

Kind of sounds like there's a bad joke in that somewhere.

Strange Trivia

About 8% of the world's people have blue eyes and about the same number are left handed, but not necessarily the same 8%.

I'm in one catagory, but not the other.

I also have a blood type that appears in a smaller percentage of people than either of those things.

I was also born with a fairly low percentage hair color, though it's not that color anymore.

I guess you can just call me Mr. Recessive Genes.
