Tomorrow Is

Emma M. Nutt Day. (She was the first female phone operator.)

The 2nd is National Beheading Day. So only our country? ANybody have suggestions? Politicians and ex-relationships are fair game. :-)

The 3rd is Skyscraper Day. Does this mean we have to run the stairs in one or what? :-)

The 5th is Be Late For Something Day. Do we really need a day to do this, or is it like a get away with it day?

Ironically, the 6th is Fight Procrastination Day. Sure, you give us a day for it then one against it. Sounds like the tactics of organized religion to me. :-)

I'll post more pictures from the trip is anybody is interested. Anybody? ......Hello......? LOL
:-)

Forever

I know where I belong now.
My heart has found a home.
Forever.

Last Day

It's my last full day here, tonight we're having pizza and a cake and tomorrow it's the train then three planes and a car ride. It's going to be a long day. It's going to be a long life until I can make my way back again.

It's mot amything I haven't said here, but I thought I'd make it public and official.
Gothcat, I love you so much it makes my heart hurt and I will miss you very deeply very soon.
I'll be back as soon as the stars allow, you have my word, you have my heart.

More when I can think straight again.

Home Is...

The plan was to come over here for two weeks, then move in about a year. I don't think that will be possible, not if I want to remain sane. I can't wait a year. There has to be another way. I'm not going to start playing the lotto or anything, but I will find a way. This is home now.

Oh, and for anybody out there who's yearned for one of those tall, elegant, exotic elf women from a fantasy story like Lord of the Rings.......you weren't wrong. ;-)

Blogging From Oz

I'm starting to adjust to the time change and the jet lag thing. Still a little weird, being a creature of routine without one. I got to meet Mom and Dad, they're totally cool. I felt comfortably welcome right at the door. Had an awesome meal off the grill, and lots of good convo. My dietary habits have improved about three fold since I've been here. :-)

I don't have access to my feed aggregator, so I'm checking thing the slow way. Don't be offended If I'm slow to read and comment. I also have lots of other things on my agenda. :-)

Why did the Brits think it was a good idea to send convicts to paradise?

More later.

I'm Here!

My boots are on the ground in Oz. That seems like an appropriate nickname for the place since most of what I've seen is green and it all seems a bit magical to me. I've only been here a little while, and I still haven't got the time zone and jet lag things worked out. More later I guess.

Oh and for those of you wondering,
O!M!F!G! She's gorgeous!

I *am* home.

Press Pause, Press Play

I'm just about to head out on the trip of a lifetime, so this may be the only post for a little while. I'll try to post when I get there if the tech-gremlins allow. When I get back here, I should have pictures and lots to say. So for the few of you reading, grab your passports and let's go!

Not Quite Yet

I Googled my upcoming trip, and this is what I found. Look at the big version and pay special attention to instruction number 40. I think I'm glad I'm going by planes and trains. This looks like a lot of work.

Digital Update

Okay. Got most of my bookmarks back. The ones I didn't get weren't all that vital. Still haven't recovered my e-mail and addresses, but I'm pretty sure I know where to find those. Got all the other data that matters back. Sometimes being a bit geeky can be good.

Otherwise, getting ready for the trip. I'm excited. (massive understatement!)

Alright, I'm off to go trolling through people's blogs for their e-mail addresses. More soon.

From The Ashes

It's Alive!!!
I'm back online after much buying of parts, rebuilding, reloading, testing, and a new filter. I know I've complained about lightning before, but do I really need to say it? Huh? This is why.

So thanks for your patience. Oh, and if I litter the place with more typos than normal, the keyboard is new. So is the mouse. And the motherboard, the processor, the memory, and the power supply. And the phone/answering machine. The overhead lights here work again after almost a week. The battery powered digital thermometer will likely not be replaced.(again) All I ever did was look at it to decide if I should be comfortable, and I think I'm old enough to decide for myself now. Still haven't recovered data from the old drive, so bookmarks are only what I can remember. And if anybody wants to drop me a quick e-mail, feel free as it will help reconstruct my address book.

I think I need a nap.

Lightning strike.

Please excuse this interruption to our regular viewing pleasure.
Pitfinder has had some lightning damage to crucial blogging equipment, and will resume as soon as this has been rectified and/or the equipment replaced.

May we please have a minute of silence to remember the modems lost,in their brave endeavours to unite the people across this vast planet and their daily battles against the elements.
May they rest peacefully in the landfill.;)

Money, Money, Money

I got my Oz dollars today. They're kind of cool with little plastic windows. I also like that Australia (like many other countries - not this one) make each note a slightly different size so blind people can shop without getting ripped off. We're supposed to be an enlightened nation.......no idea where that went wrong.
