Owner's Manual

Everything comes with an owner's manual except people. I want a human being owner's manual so I can look up answers to all the silly things that don't make sense.

Like how can you be out in intense cold (and I mean the kind where you can come inside and keep your coat on for at least a half an hour without feeling warm) for hours, and the bottoms of your feet can still sweat? What page is that on?

Good Day

Ever have one of those days when you decide to do something that wasn't on the menu, just for yourself and everything after that turns out decent?

I did that today, and I got to see an old friend, two free meals, a bunch of little tasks taken care of, and even had some good news e-mails waiting when I got back.

I wish there was some way I could share good fortune when it (occasionally) comes my way.

Vice President Dick is supposed to be visiting Australia today. Could you guys take him to one of those big open spaces and let him wander around for the next couple years? We'd owe you a big party, one nation to another. (Please?)

Tomorrow is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day.

I don't even know how many countries have Dog Biscuits. I better get a move on if I'm going to appreciate them all before the day ends. (Does that mean I have to taste them?)

HA!

I was watching episodes of Smallville on You Tube to fill in some gaps in the somewhat random progress of the local station. There was a girl in Singapore who'd posted a bunch she'd obviously recorded from braodcast. Other people in countries where they can't get it at all or are years behind were gratefully watching too. Warner came along and had them taken down for copyright infringement because they feel like they need to get paid twice (at least) for a product that was already paid for.

So it turns out I know somebody who has all of it up to the current season and has graciously agreed to let me borrow them and finish watching without giving the greedy corporation one cent more.



I'm really tired of corporate greed. I don't imagine they'll understand what regular people think until it's too late for most of them. Even Microsoft is walking a little close to the edge these days.

Sorry if I haven't been keeping up with comments and return comments, we migrated two websites to a new server and reset a whole bunch of e-mail accounts tonight. And started creating a whole new thing at another domain I got a couple months back. Now my brain feels fuzzy.
