A Matter of Trust

Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
And they may not want it to end
But it will, it's just a question of when
I've lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire the more you get burned
But that won't happen to us
'Cause it's always been a matter of trust

I know you're an emotional girl
It took a lot for you to not lose your faith in this world
I can't offer you proof
But you're gonna face a moment of truth
It's hard when you're always afraid
You just recover when another belief is betrayed
So break my heart if you must
It's a matter of trust

You can't go the distance
With too much resistance
I know you have doubts
But for God's sake don't shut me out

This time you've got nothing to lose
You can take it, you can leave it, whatever you choose
I won't hold back anything
And I'll walk away a fool or a king
Some love is just a lie of the mind
It's make believe until it's only a matter of time
And some might have learned to adjust
But then it never was a matter of trust

(INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE)

I'm sure you're aware love,
We've both had our share of believing too long
When the whole situation was wrong

Some love is just a lie of the soul
A constant battle for the ultimate state of control
After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a question of why
Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
But that can't happen to us
'Cause it's always been a matter of trust

It's a matter of trust
It's always been a matter of trust
It's a matter of trust

Acceptance speech..

I will begin by just saying what an honour it is to be invited as an auther on this blog 'Crushing Silence'.This is a blog I've always revered in a sense.
The creator and author,is a man with a tremendous spirit,a man who can make me scream with laughter or freeze for an hour in the clutches of a bizarre train of thought...
Lately our trains of thought have merged into one strange and magical super~highway.
To keep this acceptance speech at a tolerable length I will conclude for now with this...I have enormous respect for Pitfinder , our amazing friendship has morphed into a relationship like there never was ever before in the history of the universe, before and after human documentation.;)
It is meeting of like~minded minds ,of twisted senses of humour ,of an innate and silent understanding of the others needs before they even know of it themselves.I think most of us have some version of this kind of connection with another in our minds from an early age.It floods me with an inspiration I'm not entirely sure yet how to harness. My emotional diatribes I resolve to leave locked up in my litterbox, where else must a cat defecate?
Here is reserved for the brilliant work, the kind of writing that makes you forget to eat the blackforest cake you had saved in the fridge.
Im proud to be here,But I also see this as Pitfinders realm,I'll be here in the background ,and once in a while I'll hoot,"Yeah,What He said".

Yea! Three Cheers! Hurrah!

I'd like to offer the warmest welcome to the lovely Gothcat who is now able to contribute to my humble blog as much or as little as she wants. There may be an ocean between us, but at least we can share a bit of digital space. It makes my heart glad to look over there and see her name with mine.

So please feel free to join me in the cheering and applause!

Any gift of words is also welcome.

We Have A Winner!

The party is at Earthkissed's house!

Update - Old News

Sorry if I've been slack or distracted lately, but I've been, well, distracted. That woman here that I was non-dating is completely old news. I haven't told her that yet but then I haven't talked to her in a while either. And honestly, who cares?

Why am I soooo beyond all that silliness? Well, sometimes life is what happens while you're making other plans, and life is definitely happening. I've wandered completely around the bend, and I *like* it here. I found out who's had the other parts of my soul all these years and it's someone you all know. I could fill up pages of clues involving how wonderful she is, but let's just get right to the fun.

Three guesses who it is. Okay, looking at my links, three might be too many. It's a figure of speach, but you get the idea. First one to guess gets to host a party. ;-)

No fair asking Jade, she already knows too much. :-)

Stolen

We watch the season pull up its own stakes
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced,
Another sun soaked season fades away

You have stolen my heart

Invitation only, grand farewells
Crash the best one, of the best ones
Clear liquor and cloudy eyed, too early to say goodnight

You have stolen my heart

And from the ballroom floor we are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation
Our dreams assured and we all, will sleep well

You have stolen
You have stolen my heart

I watch you spin around in your highest heels
You are the best one, of the best ones
We all look like we feel

You have stolen my
You have stolen my heart

Other Days

The 22nd is Buy-A-Musical-Instrument Day. Like Bass guitars?

The 23rd is Penny Day. So if any of you know a woman named 'Penny' don't forget to tell her about it.

The 24th is National Escargot Day. Can we give this back to France? Please?

The Perfect Card?

So I already decided I'm going to send a Birthday card to the woman I'm non-dating next week. I walked into the 'humorous' card section and picked up one that appeals to my dark sense of humor and even had a double meaning in light of the insulatory last two meetings we've almost not had.

It has a picture of a teddy bear with a party hat and a cupcake with a single candle on the front and says, "Pokey the bear wants to wish you a happy birthday."

Open the card and it says, "But sadly, his mouth is sewn shut. Enjoy Your Day, Anyway."

And, yes, I'll write some quote or saying about only being as old as you feel or some other thoughtful thing in it.

Too much? :-)

What I'm Watching

I even found an interactive, live cam near Three Sisters. The still photos are okay, but was kind of cool to get control and turn it around to see people on the cableway. Nobody waved though......

Tomorrow Is

National Dance Like A Chicken Day. Videos would be good. :-)

The 17th is Pack Rat Day. For me, every day is pack rat day. I should really get rid of some stuff.

1+1=0

So on further introspection, I think I have some insight. I understand that women tend to be more emotional than men and I can't factor that in since -you know- I'm not a woman.

Near as I can figure it she's made assumptions about me and the situation that are, in fact, erroneous. This problem gets compounded by the fact that she's making decisions based on them. She seems to be hesitant to let this run it's normal course since she thinks she knows how it will go - not the way she wants. Which is kind of ironic, actually, knowing what I know.

Anyway, what I think she's doing is keeping a buffer in place while she tries to nudge things into some imagined fantasy that can't ever actually happen. Which is too bad. She would rather be a victim to her fears than take some small chances to see if they're even real.
I don't see that there's anything I can do to change the situation as long as she keeps me at arms length, so I'll let it roll for a while, but there's a limit out there past which I won't go.

Going Nowhere Fast

So I went to that fudraiser thing. They didn't have proper bills to make change so I paid more than it was supposed to cost. It's a good cause, right?

The woman - step forward, step back. Repeat. I could give you all the details and appeal to the ladies in the audience for some insight or interpretation, but I'm not sure I care that much.

In true guy fashion, when confronted with a thing that doesn't work right and the inability to figure out why, much less how to fix it, there is the temptation to break it beyond repair just to make it go away. But why bother?

Pronk

The scary part is that this doesn't look so different from what these people really do much if the time.

Your tax dollars at pronk.

Here We Go Again

So I get a text message today while I'm up on a ladder. It's that woman inviting me to a spaghetti dinner thing Friday with the same group of her friends. I looked it up when I got home and it's a fund raiser for somebody I don't know and there will be a silent auction, a regular auction, and a raffle. Didn't really sound like my kind of evening and I was debating about it when she calls, wondering if I got the message because she sent it over the internet rather than her phone. So before it's all over, I agree to meet them there. I have no idea what she thinks she's doing. I guess I'll go and find out.

But, I'm taking my flag.

We Be Stupider

Some poll results here in the U.S. that really make me shake my head.
-----------------------------------------------

65% of Americans think that we should teach both creationism and evolution in schools. (CBS)

45% believe that the world is less than 10,000 years old. (Gallup)

36% believe in telepathy.

35% say that evolution is well supported by the evidence. (Gallup)

35% say that evolution is not well supported by the evidence. (Gallup)

25% believe in astrology.

25% think the sun goes around the Earth.

13% think that Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife.

-----------------------------------------------

That next to the last one really gets me. I wonder what percentage think it's physically possible for a human to put their head up their own ass?

(I'm holding out the distant hope that some of these people just agreed to random crap because they're tired of pollsters telling us what to think.)
