Paper Weight Head

I think I need a new hobby. Seems like my free time isn't being put towards anything particularly useful or interesting. Just watching old TV shows. I feel the need to use my brain for something more than a paper weight. Hmmm. I suppose I'll figure it out.

Oh, the weather is turning into fall here so I'm feeling more energetic. Maybe that's part of it.

Star Wreck

For those of you who haven't seen it or are otherwise unaware, go HERE.

You have to read the subtitles, but it's funny. (It helps if you've seen the shows it makes fun of.)

Mute Button

So we made the transition to Digital TV a while back, I built a new antenna, and have been watching more commercial stuff the last few months. Now I remember what the mute button is for. The time that Star Trek TNG is on is largely sponsored by two "colleges". When i say colleges, I think from their ads they must be strip mall technical schools calling themselves "college" or "university". And it would appear that the people they're trying to reach must be pretty stupid, because these places run their annoying commercials two or three in a row. Then the other school runs theirs. And I do mean annoying. Really annoying. Over and over. Again. Every commercial break. All night long.

Please make it stop.

I guess that's why we invented that little mute button on the remote. It's saving my sanity.

Monday

I haven't posted anything for a couple days, just got side tracked with other stuff.

Whoa, had a momentary craving for cheese fries. Maybe it's a good thing I don't live in a bigger town.

I guess today or tomorrow is the equinox. So it's fall now (here). I'm kinda looking forward to the prospect of snow. And no, I can't complain about the weather so far this year. Can I put it in a jar and save it? Please?

Cured?

Today is an anniversary of sorts. It was a year ago that I found out -definitively- that I wasn't going to be moving out of the country. I got past it sooner than I thought I might and it's all kind of history now. Are there things that I wish had gone differently? Sure, but it doesn't really matter now. So between that and the other silliness here over the last couple years, I think I'm pretty much done with all that romance stuff..

Now if I can just find a way to get Facebook to let me change my status from "Single" to "Full Remission (hopefully cured)".

:-)

Oh, and I haven't been whining about the weather this year because, aside from a bit of a wet spring, it's been about as awesome as a guy could ask for.

Monday

So it's Monday, what's good about that? Well it turns out that one of the TV stations has decided to show Star Trek NG on late night. And they're starting with Far Point Station. So that's cool.

What's In A Name?

So it's Patriot Day today, which is to say it's the anniversary of the planes collapsing the World Trade Center. I'm not sure how they picked the name, I don't know that getting killed in an office building is any more patriotic than any other way. The Japanese attacked at Pearl Harbor, and we have Pearl Harbor day. To honor veterans, we have Veteran's Day. We have Labor Day and Memorial Day. Most of our holidays sound like what they are. I don't see why we couldn't call it World Trade Center Day. Dunno, in the greater scheme the name probably doesn't matter than much, but I think about these things sometimes.

Mega Man's Rabbit Rider

Okay, that's one of the funny one's I got when I went HERE. It's easy to play, see what you get.

Kinky Sumo in Toyland
Unpleasant Pachinko Zone

Killer Bobsled Yoga

Why don't they make some of these into games? Wouldn't that be cool?

Go Away, Please

As I type this, I'm exchanging text messages with some guy who thinks I'm some girl he bought a hotdog from at some farmer's market. I'm trying to get this idjit to realize he's got the wrong freaking number. I'm guessing the girl that gave it to him is either not too bright or really doesn't want to talk to him.

Too bad there's no way for me to find out who she is so I can send a lot of idiotic nuisance messages to her in return.

Kids these days....sheesh.

Oh, by the way, I read where the average teenager in this country exchanges an average 2000 text messages every month.

Is It Monday Again?

You ever do something and it feels like you're doing it right but you get halfway through and it turns out you made a mistake and you have to un-do part of it?

That's what I did today.

Oh, and there was an anhydrous ammonia leak on the west end of town that caused an evacuation (only of a small part of town). The radio idiots made it sound like we should all run for our lives and then didn't bother to say when it was deemed safe over there. Thanks, dicks.
