Now That It's Over

Did anybody have any really good 'stupid questions'?

I think my best one was, "Is that my blood?" But that's kind of a perennial favorite for me.

Search Results

Ever start a search for something and when it doesn't yield what you wanted, instead of refining the search you just start following link to link to link until you end up watching somehting like this without really remembering where you started or what it was you were looking for?

I did. :-)

Thanks for watching.

Poem, Author Unknown

All I live for is now
All I stand for is where and how
All I wish for are magic moments

As I sail through change
My resolve remains the same
What I chose are magic moments

Because ships are safe in the harbour
But that is not what ships are made for
The mind could stretch much further
But it seems that is not what our minds are trained for

We call for random order
You can't control Mother nature's daughter

Ships are safe in the harbour
But that is not what ships are built for

The witch hunter roams
The scary thing is that he's not alone
He's trying to down my magic moments

As we sail through change
Ride the wind of a silent rage
And sing laments of magic moments

Tomorrow Is

Hobbit Day and Dear Diary Day.

Please tell me none of you are writing about Hobbits in your diary.

:-)

After that, it's Dogs In Politics Day.
I don't suppose they could do a lot worse than some of the humans we have.

EE&V

Eyes
Diimly lit interior, lots of grease and a little soot.

Ears
Hissing somewhere from a leaky air line.

Voice
"Everybody looks at you sideways for owning that thing. Some of them might even hate you. You don't even like it that much, so why do you have it?"

"It was free."

I Want

I want a real-life remote control. I want to be able to push the mute button on talking heads and politicians who are just talking without saying anything of substance. I want to be able to turn on subtitles for both that tell the real truth. I want to rewind them and make them start over until they stop with the verbal diarreha. And if that doesn't work the power button would be a last resort, just shut them down and let them hang there like the stringless puppets they are.

Some Quotes

"I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom."

---Bob Dylan

"What luck for rulers that men do not think."

--Adolph Hitler

"I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians."

--Charles De Gaulle

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

--Benjamin Franklin

2038

For some reason I can't explain, I've been taking a more detailed look at the cookies people want to set on my computer. Some of them are pretty good about limiting who it talks to and even have it expire when I close the browser. That's good, I'd be a lot more likely to allow those, esecially on a site I like.

But some of these bozos (clowns) want to just dump some loud mouth piece of crap that lives forever. Well, almost forever. The common expiration date for most of the rude, annoying one seems to be somewhere in 2038. WTF? You think I'll still have this machine in 30 freakin' years? So basically, you want me to host your cookie like some kind of parasite with no prospect for a cure.

I don't think so, folks.

Today Is

Defy Superstition Day. Bet that took some real creative thought to cook up.

Tomorrow is National Cream-filled Donut Day. Yea!

Saturday is Felt Hat Day. I don't think I've ever owned a felt hat. I guess that means I have to stay indoors and hide out all day. (yeah, right)

Then Sunday is Stay Away From Seattle Day and Collect Rocks Day. I think it would be more fun if it were "Stay Away From Seattle and Collect Rocks Day".

Hmmmmm, Interesting

I put the number "13" into the search box, and then went to the 13th page and this was at the top. Is Google trying to tell me something? Most of my blog friends are in Australia after all.....

Hmmmmmmm.

Hey, Jenna, I tried to post a comment about your need for a hot towel on your blog and it zapped me with an error message so I reported it to Blogger (that wasn't as easy as it should be). Maybe they'll try to fix it for you. Let us know.

Tomorrow Is

the anniversary of 9/11.

I remember where I was when I heard about it, but I had to see it before I really believed it.

Today Was

Teddy Bear Day. Sorry I didn't mention it earlier.

Tomorrow is Swap Ideas Day. I'm not sure what we're supposed to swap them for..... :-)

Then it's No News Is Good News Day. Which, the way this country is going, should be just about every day.

A Little Less Bright

The world is a little less bright today.
Goodbye and Godspeed.

How Fitting

I didn't manage to get this posted before midnight (my time) so it's now a new day. And the one just past was Be Late For Something Day. Did that.

Today is Fight Procrastination Day.

Maybe they have these in the wrong order?

Tomorrow is Neither Rain Nor Snow Day.

My forecast is calling for rain. Anybody got snow?

Psssst!

(hey, he's over there, could you do us a favor?)

It seems that our monkey in a suit, sorry, President is visiting the land down under. If any of you kind and generous folks could spare the time to take him for a little walk in some of that glorious backcountry, why that would be awesome.

And if you happened to, accidentally, forget where you left him and he didn't make it home for about a year, why we'd see our way clear to forgiving you. :-)

The Rewards of Political Apathy

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

--
Martin Niemöller -
Arrested by the Nazis in 1937.
Survived Sachsenhausen and Dachau concentration camps.
Died (ironically) in 1984.

Tomorrow Is

Tomorrow (Sept 3rd) is Skyscraper Day.
Does that elevate your mood?
Put your head in the clouds?
Leave you reaching for the stars?
Can I come up with more corny metaphors? :-)

If it's any consolation, today is National Beheading Day. So I guess you're safe if you live in another country.

EE&V

Eyes
Black asphalt illuminated by a wood fire in a large steel drum.

Ears
Faint waves against a rocky shoreline.

Voice
"You've known him since forever and I need to know what it will take to get you to tell me all his deepest, darkest secrets, because I really wanna know."

"No, you don't. He already told you everything but you didn't listen. You hear what you want. Don't waste my time."
