In case I forget to mention it later, the 22nd is Ratcatcher's Day. Does anybody out there still have Ratcatchers? Here we call them 'exterminators', and they poison the little varmints, but nobody is 'catching' them. Well, not until they've stopped running. At all.

Then Wednesday is National Cheer Up The Lonely Day. I guess we're the only nation that has people who need cheering up, because it seemed like 'International' would have worked too.

Greed

When do we as a people, a society, and a nation get tired of the selfishness and greed?

Companies go around patenting things they didn't invent or discover so they can use it as a legal club to extort money since it's often cheaper to settle than to fight.

The RIAA will go after anyone of any age with tactics that would make the mafia think twice.

Microsoft is trying to scare companies into paying them for nothing.

I won't even get into the deal making and profiteering in the current wars.

When TV ads tell you companies are looking to the future, going green, and have your interests in mind, don't believe it. They're really interested in doing anything they have to (or can get away with) in order to keep the share price up and going up. That's all.

Oddly, they too, have both had trouble with their leaders. I wonder if there's anything to that.
